"Galliano" Liqueur

Makes 1½ quarts

Sugar, granulated: 2 cups
Water: 1 cup
Pineapple extract: 2 Tbsp
Vanilla extract: 4 tsp
Anise extract: ½ tsp
Yellow food color: 5 drops
Vodka: 1 quart (4 cups)

Simmer the sugar and water over low heat for 5 minutes to fully dissolve the sugar.
Cool the syrup and pour into a glass jug. Add the rest of the ingredients and shake well.
This liqueur does not need to age. It may be used immediately. Store in a tightly capped glass bottle.

Cocktail:
Kahlua: 1 shot
Galliano: 1 shot
Brandy: 3 shots
Lime juice: 1 shot

Place the cocktail ingredients in a blender. Fill 2/3-full with crushed ice and blend for 5 to 10 seconds.

Strain into glasses. Serves 4.
