Wide noodles, 8 oz dry Ground beef, lean, 1½ lb. Green bell pepper, chopped, ¼ cup Garlic, mashed, 1 clove Tomato sauce, 24 oz Sugar, granulated, 1 Tbsp. Salt, 1/8 tsp. Black pepper, freshly ground, 1/8 tsp. Cottage cheese, 1 cup Cream cheese, softened, 8 oz Sour cream, ¼ cup Green onions, sliced, 3 to 4 Cheddar cheese, shredded, 1 cup (4 oz) |

Cook the noodles just until near tender.
Cook the ground beef, green pepper and garlic until the beef is browned. Drain and discard the fat. Add the tomato sauce to the beef mixture. Add sugar, salt and pepper, then stir-in the cooked noodles. Combine the cottage cheese and cream cheese. Add the sour cream and green onion. Layer half the noodle mixture into a buttered 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish. Top the layer with the cottage cheese mixture followed by the remaining noodle mixture. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese over all. Bake uncovered in a 350° oven for 30 minutes or until the casserole is heated through. |
